CBN Cambodia is located in the capital city of Phnom Penh. Our staff of 23 produces television programs, provides humanitarian relief, and holds open air events throughout the country. CBN Cambodia was officially registered in March 2005, six years after the first season of programs were produced in 1999. The locally produced TV show Super Kids Club (SKC) is now in its seventh season, and One Cubed is in season four. Both programs air on a terrestrial commercial channel, reaching the entire nation.
Because no reliable postal system exists in Cambodia, CBN created a means by which viewers could communicate with them. 36 SKC letter boxes are strategically placed throughout the country. Letters are gathered by local volunteers and then sent by taxi to the CBN office. Every letter receives a response by our staff. The response letters or postcards are then organized by village and province and sent back by taxi and distributed by local volunteers.
Additionally, SKC sponsors "fun day" events. These outreaches give the show cast and the CBN team the opportunity to bring the Gospel to children and viewers. One key to the success of this ministry is that we partner closely with local churches in the provinces. These events consist of a stage program containing singing, dancing, games, competitions, prizes, and end with a bold presentation of the Gospel.
In April 2006, CBN Cambodia launched its own humanitarian outreach, Operation Blessing, to meet needs in rural Cambodia. The Cambodia government granted NGO status to the organization in July 2006. Efforts include providing fresh water for needy villages, The Free Wheelchair Distribution, Medical Services, and Cleft Lip and Palate Surgeries.
