Filled with Joy
CBN.com – This is the story of Mahadeva Balu Dhubey, a man with many problems and little hope. His family is poor and earns very little in seasonal business. His wife, Kamala, tries to care for the children, but most of the time she is sick.
Mahadeva said, “One day my wife took empty pots to fetch water from the river…to help me, but along the way she…fell on the road.”
Because of this, Mahadeva insists she stay at home with the children.
Every morning Mahadeva goes to a nearby Guava farm, collects guava, and rides to town on his bicycle, which is 18 to 20 kilometers away, to sell it in the market streets of Rao Mandal in Pune district. After his tiresome journey back home, he fetches water from the river, making three to four trips a day.
Mahadeva’s routine is so stressful that he worries about his own health. His wife feels guilty because she cannot fetch water for the family.
Living Water
A local pastor saw the need of Mahadeva’s families and other families in the village. So, he approached Operation Blessing India’s Living Waters project and requested a bore well in Pirachiwadi village.
Watching the Living Waters team drill a bore well brought tears of joy in Kamala and Mahadeva’s eyes.
He said, “I am really surprised, I have never let my emotions out. I only wished it in my heart and now I have a bore well so close to our house. I am very happy to have this bore well right in our village. It’s as if God saw our hearts desire and fulfilled it through the Living Waters team.”
