Equipping Pastors and Leaders in Thailand

CBN.com – Operation Blessing has been conducting monthly medical missions in remote locations across Thailand since 2000. These mobile clinics generally last 2-3 days and provide free health care, dental services, health education, and counseling for the sick and suffering.
Each year OB Thailand surveys new locations for its medical missions and then invites pastors and leaders from all the partnering churches to come to Chiangmai for training.
From April 23-25, 2008, 22 pastors and leaders from various tribes, church denominations, and provinces across Thailand received biblical training on counseling, evangelism, Godly leadership, prayer, and the role of the church during a medical mission. Upon completion of the course, each pastor and leader received a certificate of achievement from Karen Thomson, regional director of CBN Siam.
The local church is a key partner in the success of any Operation Blessing medical mission. The church liaises with the local community and its leaders, provides volunteers for counseling and other medical mission activities, and follows up and disciples new believers.
The goals are that 1) these individuals are blessed with good health, 2) the local church grows stronger, and 3) the community is positively impacted.
The 22 newly trained pastors and leaders have now returned to their churches, trained and equipped, and ready see their community blessed and transformed when OB arrives in their village on medical mission during the upcoming year.
