Russian Prof Fired for Church Membership

It happened in Perm, to a medical professor at Perm Medical Academy.

She had been the head of the human anatomy department for 10 years, but she was recently let go, and local media reported that the reason was because she belongs to an evangelical church.

Evangelicals in Russia are often discriminated against. The government gives special preference to the Orthodox church.

Radical Hindus Attack Indian Christians

Christians in Damoh City, India, are recovering after a Palm Sunday attack by radical Hindus.

The Christians were beaten with cricket bats and bamboo sticks.

U.S. Calls for End to Darfur Genocide

American politicians are calling for military force to end the genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan.

They made their call for action at a hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee earlier this week.

But some of those testifying say they needed to cautiously approach a solution to the violence.

U.S. Special Envoy to Sudan Andrew Natsios said he even has to be careful what he says in public.

He doesn't want to cause a reaction that would put lives at risk in Darfur, including those of Christian aid workers.

Natsios said, "There are two-and-a-half million people in those camps, and 13 million in the displaced camps in Darfur. And there are 13,000 relief workers working for U.N. agencies and NGOs.  They are extremely vulnerable."

The United Nations estimates more than 200,000 people have been killed in the Darfur region of sudan.

And more than two and a-half million have been displaced in four years of fighting.

‘Google Earth’ Shows Sudan Genocide

Google is using its online mapping service to call attention to the Darfur, Sudan genocide.

The Internet search company has updated its Google Earth service with high-resolution satellite images of the region.

The images will allow the documentation of destroyed villages, displaced people and the location of refugee camps.

Google Earth is working together with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum on the site.

Zimbabwe Bishops Urge Mugabe to Step Down

In southern Africa, Zimbabwe's Roman Catholic bishops are calling on President Robert Mugabe to leave office.

The bishops penned an Easter message called "God hears the cries of the oppressed."

Once a prosperous country, Zimbabwe is reeling under hyper-inflation and 80 percent unemployment and food shortages.

Christians have been holding prayer rallies across the country for the overthrow of the Mugabe regime.

We go across the Atlantic Ocean to Monterrey, Mexico, where 400,000 people attended a 2-day Great music! Good News! Festival with evangelist Luis Palau.

The March 18-22 festival was one of the most extensive in the Palau organization's history.

It included prison outreaches, gospel lunches for business and political leaders, and a special women's outreach.

The organization says more than 15,000 people registered decisions and rededications to Christ.

Master’s Tournament Winner Thanks Jesus

This week, the winner of the 2007 Master's Tournament openly gave thanks to Jesus Christ after his surprise victory.

Thirty-one-year-old Zach Johnson -- little-known before this week -- won the prestigious tournament by beating the world's best golfer, Tiger Woods.

Johnson said the win was more special because it happened on Easter.

And he said he knew Jesus was watching over him.

On the course, Zach carries a special ball mark that his wife Kim had made for him.

It's inscribed with Scriptures, including Psalm 3:5-6, which says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
