Countdown to the Beijing Olympics

CBNNews.com - The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games are now officially only six days away.
AP Television footage showed people walking on Tiananmen Square and the countdown clock turning from seven to six days.
China sees the Olympics as its chance to showcase its talents to the world and is playing down concerns that pollution over the capital will ruin the occasion.
Overnight, weather conditions improved considerably. The usual dull, grayish hues gave way to swirling clouds and sunlit blue.
It is not known if the blue skies are a result of the anti-pollution measures, wind and rain over the last several days, or a combination of both.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened on Tiananmen Square this week amidst concerns from Chinese authorities that protesters would use the Olympics to highlight their grievances.
