Obama Shifts Focus to Economy

CBNNews.com - Senator Barack Obama is focusing on incentives to revive the economy now that his recent international tour is over.
"I believe that more action is necessary. I believe we need a second round of economic stimulus," Obama told his economic advisers on Monday.
The Illinois Democrat met with his advisers and also several giants from the business and labor sectors on Monday to discuss ways to deal with a sour economy.
Among those attending are billionaire investor Warren Buffet, Eric Schmidt, chairman and CEO of Google, former Federal Reserve chairman Paul Volcker and Clinton Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin.
Obama said on NBC's Meet the Press on Sunday that the cost of gasoline and food will keep Americans focused on finances even during the upcoming Olympics in Beijing.
"What is driving people all across the country right now is worries and concerns about inability to pay the gas bill and inability to buy food because prices have gone up so high," Obama said.
Obama says he expects to fine-tune some of his policies based on what's happened over the last few months.
