Operation Blessing Helps Coastal Residents

CBNNews.com - While the damage could have been much worse, thousands of Gulf Coast families have a lot of cleanup ahead.
Operation Blessing has organized manpower and equipment, and is assessing the hardest hit areas.
Over the course of the next few days, OB is going to be mobilizing with chainsaw crews, putting tarps on people's roofs and cleaning up just tons of debris from people's yards. One of the biggest problems people will be facing is not having power.
With the expectation of no electricity for weeks, dozens of people lined up outside grocery stores to get their hands on whatever food they could.
"When people are facing power outages they don't have hot meals they don't have enough food to sustain them. So Operation Blessing's going to be coming in and we're partnering with Mercy Chef's," said Jody Herrington with OB Disaster Relief.
"We're setting up mobile kitchens so that we can serve hot meals to the people and we're also delivering food and non-perishable items so that people can sustain themselves," she said.
With several new storms looming in the Atlantic, Operation Blessing could be on the move again in the very near future.
