Widow Recalls Falwell's Pranks, Generosity

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Reverend Jerry Falwell's widow says he was sometimes generous to a fault.
Macel Falwell says her husband once gave his shoes to a man who didn't have a pair to wear to church. On another occasion, he gave away an expensive coat
She says he loved people, and could even get his enemies to like him.
Her book, "Jerry Falwell: His Life and Legacy," also recalls his penchant for pranks. Macel Falwell says that when they were dating, he once snuck an alligator into her house and left it in the bathtub.
Jerry Falwell died a year ago this week.
