DETROIT - A Muslim woman who sued a judge for dismissing her small-claims case after she refused to remove her veil has lost in federal court, but may now appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Ginnah Muhammad, whose veil covered most of her face, had offered to remove it before a female judge, but none was available.
On Monday, a federal judge in Detroit rejected Muhammad's claim that her rights to freedom of religion and court access were violated when her 2006 case was dismissed.
