NEW YORK - When "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" opens in theaters this week, fans of the popular children's novels may be surprised to see Queen Susan giving the prince an emotional kiss goodbye.
Ben Barnes, who plays Prince Caspian, says he worried about it because he was a Narnia fan growing up and knew that neither the kiss -- nor any hint of youthful romance -- were in C.S. Lewis's book.
Barnes says the movie has his character and Susan's exchanging glances too, but he was relieved that a more flirtatious scene suggesting a deeper relationship was deleted from the film.
Anna Popplewell, who plays Susan, says she was afraid that the kiss would feel awkward, but says, "It wasn't -- it was fine."
